full remission since 2014 smile the first 7 years of this disease was horrible. I could never fully get into remission. started Remicade and Aza in 2014 and no symptoms since then. I am able to eat just about anything now even corn on a cob!!! I have even gotten over my anxiety over travelling! I hope for those of you who are flaring that you get into remission soon!!!

I've had UC officially for 25 years now....simmered and flared for 20 years - why I kept my colon for so long? Because I am an optimist - and because the meds available today were not available then not to mention I was scared of surgery. I'm now on Remicade and it has turned my life around. I'm in full complete remission going on almost 5 years. I just had my 2 year c-scope last Tuesday and nothing has changed. I don't have the biopsy results yet, but I'm crossing my fingers that all is still fine smile

After my first prednisone treatment in january I've started with aza and it seems I am in remission, soon I'll see my doctor again and I hope tests will be ok too. Thanks for your support, this forum is great.

I'm 4 years in remission now. Imuran put me there and has kept me there. 1 BM a day, no UC symptoms, eat what I like. I had a scope today in fact and GI said no signs of inflammation, polyps or pseudo-polyps. A little scarring from the rough years of 2007-2013. Though like Red34 I have to wait on biopsy results from the scope.

For those nervous about scopes it is truly amazing how easy the process really is. Even the bowel prep can now be flavoured with squirts of diluted juice. I had a full dental teeth cleaning and polishing 2 weeks ago which was much more unpleasant than a colonoscopy.

I've been in remission the past two months, but the last few days have me worried. I've been fatigued and have had an increase in BMs (some soft). Normally I go 1-2 times, but lately about three. Today I had some diarrhea. No blood so far. I've upped my meds and will be super strict with my diet. I currently take Delzicol, Mesalamine enemas (had been decreasing, but will up this to nightly again), and VSL #3 (once every three days).

Well, I was in remission with Aza for almost a full year, around three bowel movements a day, but no pain or urgency. about one two months ago I started flaring and quickly went to 12-20 BMs a day with blood and urgency. I was put on uceris and mesla. enemas at night. It helped for about a week and I went right back into flaring, so I started pred and Humira... I just did my first four injections and my pred cycle is almost done. I feel pretty good now, but that usually does happen when I am on pred. So we will see!

With the masses of help and support I have received from this forum and in particular ipoop (who managed to guess my exact diagnosis and likely meds again exactly ) I am now in remission and back to my own self again apart from a strange experience of purple Urine today which now believe to be pentassa reacting with bleach.

This forum is a life saver


Not sure how to use these quotes but here goes. Hampy, I was on Pentasa for a few years and my urine was also purple. Not the urine so much as the mixture of the urine with the water because the toilet seat would go purple from the back splash. I told my doc about this and he said he had never heard of it. I went off the Pentasa for a year and it stopped then went back on it and it started again. I'm now on Entyvio infusions and off the Pentasa. No more purple. Thought I was going crazy, glad I'm not.
