Imagardner2,
Can you tell me what you eat?
It's pretty much in my signature (that's what filling in your "Profile" does when you post).
Low fiber (cuz my gut
hates fiber), gluten-free and generally grain-free, the only exception is rice noodles (no idea why this is OK), swiss and hard cheese is OK but yogurt is not. All meat is OK but seafood is not :-( but sometimes I'll have one (only 1) of hubby's shrimp and no probs.
Potatoes make my gut very happy as does cooked spinach and chicken broth. Those are what I go to when things go wrong.
Asian food is beloved, curries and Vietnamese bun which is noodle, meat and lettuce salad. I live in a small town (no Asian food) so have learned to make these at home but tomorrow get to eat at Vietnamese restaurant! yay!
I tried many "name" diets but nothing was ever exactly right so just kept track of problem foods and banished them. In the beginning the list was very long but as my gut settled down (healed maybe) I could eat more foods.
Udi's white bread is what I make for toast, all other gluten-free baked goods sold are crap (my opinion) but when I need a cake I bake it at home with gluten-free flour.
Once you see whether your gut responds to diet modification you can decide if it's what you want to do. Not easy figuring it out and it's not a cure but it made my symptoms controllable, whereas Rx meds never did that.
