Hello,
I'm 23 years old recently diagnosed with uc about a month ago. The doctors told me I've had this inflammation for at least 2-3 years, but I never had any symptoms or anything until few months back. So after I went and got diagnosed they hooked me up with prednisolone for 40-50 days and mesalazine. I'm on the last week of prednisolone taking 5mg daily but my symptoms are kind of weird and I'm confused.
When I eat only bread, potatoes and rice my symptoms go away, I have 1 bm/day or even once every other day and there is no blood nor mucous, however as soon as I eat something else such as peeled peaches, watermelon, green beans, peeled apple, nuts or anything I tried up until this point - I start getting blood and looser stools with mucous 3/4 times a day. Whenever I cut back to bread, potatoes and rice my stools get normal again in a matter of a day or two. However I can't live on like that I'll start getting deficiencies and diseases... My doctors tell me that I should be able to eat those foods and they shouldn't cause problems, but obviously they do.
Is there anyone who has had a similar experience? Should I expect this to slowly fade away?
