Hi Guys,
I wanted to update you all on this old thread.
I've been working with a natropath for my UC since DEC16 and he said Osteoperios is more common than people think with UC (as per the posts above).
He believes it is perfectly reversible but you need more than just calcium and vit D. So I have been taking vit D, K2 mk 4 & mk 7, magnesium, selenium and sometimes boron, he mentioned that the above are fat soluble so most people dont take them with fat and then complain that they dont have any effect. Additionally I have been taking Molasses too.
He pointed out that most people with UC have malabsorbtion and the best way to combat this is to increase stomach PH etc.
Previously Dec15;
Lumbar -4
Neck -2.5
Hips -2.4
I went for another DEXA in Jun 16;
Lumbar -3.2
Neck -2.7
Hips -2.3
In Sep I had an IV of zoldronic Acid Bisphosphonates which I now regret as extensive research I have done shows that they make bones brittle, increase fracture risk, ruin your kidneys etc and merely improve Dexa numbers....
He also mentioned that diary doesnt help at all (fine by me as im allergic to it anyway) and to avoid soda/cola at all costs.
I wanted to know if anyone has had any success with non Bisphosphonates route and any tips/advice?
Thank you all for reading and your advice in advance
