I followed SCD for two years but recently gave up on it for a while. Some vacations I would just go off the diet completely. Others I would just do my best knowing certain ingredients might sneak into my food, but try to stick to meat and vegetable dishes, eggs, and salads. Don't drive yourself crazy. You won't die from a grain of sugar. For long trips and long weekends I would always pack the peanut butter brownies from the recipe at the back of Breaking the Vicious Cycle and a bunch of bananas and avacado to supplement what was available on my trips. Larabars should be good too. I took along lots of fruits, nuts and nut products/butters for the most part when traveling. Raisins travel well and are calorie dense.
