Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting assistance with the co-pay for Canasa. I've been looking everywhere I can think of but to no avail. I'm on Medicare and have a drug plan that dosn't cover enough. It's still to expensive for me. Is there a generic for canasa? Would using some for the enema solution in my rectum have the same benefit? You probably think I'm an idiot for asking but I'm running out of options.

When my insurance wouldn't cover oral canasa my doc changed it to Pentasa and it was fully covered. same drug, different name. And the same is true for enemas....there are generics. Check on that !

Enemas may help, but the canasa really works well for that last 1 inch. The enemas can miss that area. I used Canasa for a long time with good luck. Some of these copay cards don't work for people with medicare but give it a try. Otherwise, try the genric mesalamine enemas, or I've ordered generic Canasa from Canada, but it takes time to get here, and some people don't like ordering from another country.

I am taking generic colazal, generic enema and Canasa, as well as uceris. There are others I've tried that didn't work. I can afford generic drugs but the name brand are to much. I need the suppository but can't find a generic (or free) one.

I was wondering about Canadian drugs. I'll check the price for canasa. Also I'll look at the website that notsosicklygirl recommended. Thank you guys. I have two new leads to follow.

I am on medicare and getting my canasa for free from the manufacturer. You will have to apply for medicare extra help and be denied. You can do that online and you should go ahead and start the process. They might give you a temporary supply while you wait. One thing that's weird with them is the ship the medication to your doctor. My doctor or his nurses gave away a one month supply oif my my first shipment because they thought they were samples. But they called and got it all straightened out. I just picked up my 2nd shipment (3 month supply) yesterday. Allergan patient assistance: 800-851-0758

Also, I believe canasa is the only mesalamine suppository?
