Just got my biopsy report

Hey guys
Just got my biopsy results and it says i have mild chronic gastritis and I'm wondering if it's related to ulcerative colitis or from medications? Could it be the reason for my recent vomiting ?

Rectum biopsy showed severe chronic proctits with cryptitis and cryp abscesses. Same thing as 2 years ago when i was diagnosed but 2 years ago they said mild. What's new is this time the result says ulceration with excessive neutrophilia sad not sure what to think.

My doctor did this colonoscopy to make sure im not crohns. So im guessing crohns is ruled out because of the ulceration in my rectum?

Anyone had similar results or any advice please ?

Did your doctor say whether the chronic gastritis is suspicious for Crohn's?

Gastritis can certainly cause vomiting.

Ulceration in the rectum does not rule out Crohn's. People with Crohn's can have inflammation/ulceration anywhere in the GI tract, including the rectum.

Everything points to UC in my opinion: severe chronic proctits (uc starts in the rectum) with cryptitis (crpyt inflammation is common with uc) and cryp abscesses (also common with UC).

Doctor appointment will be on Wednesday. He didn't see the biopsy results yet but I'm hoping its not crohns. I feel like uc is less of a hassle. Just wanted to know if this kind of findings in a biopsy report is similar to my fellow ulcerative colitis people

Your signature says they found terminal ileum inflammation. Were biopsies of this area taken?

Ooh good point noodlesnoodles, I had initially missed that TI note within Hoda's siggy. Having Terminal Ileum inflammation and rectum inflammation (with nothing in between) would most certainly have raised having Crohn's Disease concerns. Got it now! Ditto the biopsy results for the TI!

I dont think he took a biopsy of the terminal ileum. the report says rectum and stomach antrum. I'll make a note of that to ask him on Wednesday. Can't believe i could have crohns after semi-accepting the fact that i'm diagnosed with ulcerative colitis for over 3 years sad Lets hope its some infective proscess in the terminal ileum or i don't know.

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is possible for inflammation within the TI. Ask the doctor and see if there's more information on it.
