I just wanted to chime in and say that the SCD yogurt made me suuuper sick as well. I recently started flaring and don't have any maintenance drugs so I decided to break down and go on pred and then try the whole SCD thing... As I upped my yogurt intake (all 24 hour made with a variety of cow, goat, VSL, yogamet, and store bought yogurt starter) I just wasn't getting better and had to have my pred upped... at which point I really got into the swing of making and eating yogurt for about
4/5 days until the amount of blood in my poo, which had decreased, increased again and I was so sick I literally just camped out on the toilet and didn't do anything other than poop and cramp all day. It was the only major dietary change that I had made and I typically avoid dairy so I decided to stop all yogurt yesterday and aside from one dry-heave inducing poop this morning I feel a thousand times better and only have about
a quarter of the blood in my stool that I had yesterday.
Also interesting to know about
the c. diff and calcium correlation, I'm still struggling with getting in to see a doctor and do stool studies but wouldn't be totally surprised if I had more than one issue
Also fwiw I'm on VSL DS and have never had a bad reaction to it.
