No more Magnesium Citrate for prep

about time for my two year colonoscopy. Found out today my insurance is totally covering a new type of prep called Prepopik, it is by prescription and there are coupons for it. Only thing I have to use. Haven't scheduled my colonoscopy yet as I have to work around my husband's work schedule but I'm tickled I don't have to use Dulcolax, Miralax and Magnesium Citrate anymore. Have always had the worst time with Magnesium Citrate. Still not looking forward to the procedure either but that's the way it goes. So has anyone used this Prepopik? Mine is orange flavor. Hoping this will be very tolerable.

Same here on the RX prep this time around. Mine is called MoviPrep and I hope it lives up to it's name. I've never had any issues with using those other things.

It's never been easy for me to stomach two bottles of magnesium citrate. Never had issues with Miralax and the Dulcolax pill. Just the magnesium citrate after the first bottle.

Colonoscopy is just two days away. Start Prepopik prep tomorrow afternoon. I like just having to drink a 5 oz. packet of the Prepopik and then at my leisure 5 8 ounce dose cups of liquid over the next 5 hours. And then four hours before leaving for my procedure the other 5 oz. packet followed by 3 8 oz. dose cups of liquid. Hopefully there will be no nausea issues, it says to get up and walk around until the nausea passes if there is. Sounds a lot easier than what I used two years ago. Hope I get a good report. Would love to have nothing found at all.

The MoviPrep experience was a smooth one for me, too. No chapped butt this time around, which was nice. Good luck, wits.

Hope it goes well! I have only ever done mag citrate for my scopes and I find it slow to start and then I end up drinking extra thinking it isn't working. Yuck!

Thanks momto2boys, hope so also, cannot believe it's been almost 31 years since I was first diagnosed with UC. There's no way I can do more than two bottles of magnesium citrate, and that was tough to keep down. Just want this over with. Just wonder why this had to happen to me? This disease.

No issues with the first pouch of Prepopik in 5 ounces of water. Have had the 5 8 ounces of liquids I was told to drink over the next 5 hours at my leisure. However, my bowels still haven't moved since the Prepopek and it's been over 5 hours. I've followed the instructions totally.

Hey iPoop, at 8:45 last night, only went three times. After second pack of Prepopik this morning I went four times between 7:15 and 9:40. Prepopik sure was easier though. Colonoscopy was ok but it doesn't get any easier when you get older. Am two years older than last one. Colon looked to still be in good shape remission wise where the UC is concerned but two polyps were removed from the sigmoid part of my colon. Thanks for asking.

Still very sore after my after my colonoscopy. Wonder when that soreness will go away? Soon I hope.

Soon, 2-3 or so days is common after an invasive procedure like a colonoscopy. Congrats on such a good scope and continued remission!

Still having a lot of bloating and gas and belching. Wasn't having that before the prep. Eating yogurt and using gas pills when needed. Hope this to will pass.
