Saw Dr Shukla at Cornell yesterday.Very professional.Think he is the one.Dr at North Shore on Long Island was not as thorough.Going for MRI this week so he can see how good or bad i look inside.Very happy that I'm starting journey towards surgery..

Good. Glad to hear it was a good appointment. I know after meeting with my surgeon, I felt equipped with more knowledge to make an informed decision. I think I finally got to the point where something had to give, and that was the best route. It almost felt like relief.

Good luck with the MRI.

Let us know how the MRI goes (is it an MRE?). I felt very confident in my decision to have surgery after I met "mr right", haha. It's good to have that confidence to move forward. When are you aiming to have the surgery? Would it be 2 steps?

I too felt confident on the surgery decision after meeting my amazing surgeon. My jpouch surgery was 16 years ago and I have never second guessed that decision. Life has been excellent the past 16 years. You will get your life back and be able to make the most of it.

Did you check out the 14th floor at the hospital where you would be staying?

Did he agree to do the surgery on you? Or was he waiting for the scan to come back?

No didn't check out hospital,its across street from his office.He didn't say he wouldn't do surgery.Im in pretty good health so i think he would have no problem performing surgery

Dr. Theodopolous performed my colectomy. She was the 3rd surgeon i spoke with. There first 2 were volunteered by other doctors. Dr. Theodopolous saw my case and came to see to me and convinced me to have the surgery. She's also performing my proctectomy soon. If you haven't already chosen a surgeon, I recommend her.
