Yellow/white spots in stool..?

An update to the ct scan..

My IBD nurse couldnt say anything over telephone (which is standard) but said what they have found is 'what they expected to see"..

Said il get a copy in the post.. question is how detailed is the CT scan report i get sent?

Theyve booked me in for a colonoscopy in October..

Not sure whether to be worried or relieved yet.

In regards to the stool sample, my IBD nurse again said she would send the results via post, as she couldnt express on the abnormalities that they've found , on telephone..

Dan you need to ring the IBD nurses or the consultants secretary and ask them to tell you the results , my GP would have no clue about UC or CD , they wouldn't even give me and emergency prescription of pentasa before , despite having had this for almost 6 5 years !

CT scan has shown that i have inflammation through out the small bowel, which is promising as theres no mention of the c word.

Apparenty Pentasa has stopped working for me, therefore im on balsalazide instead..

Waiting for follow-up colonoscopy to come through post.

How can inflammation in small bowel produce so much bleeding? Iv been told to wean off the pred (now 30mg) even though im bleedimg heavily and having 8 BMs a day.

Maybe thats why theyve followed up with a colonoscopy

Yeah a colonscopy with biopsies can help determine UC or crohn's. UC is shallow inflammation, continuous in nature, and limited to the large intestine. Crohn's has deep tissue inflammation, has skip lesions (healed areas, inflammed areas, healed areas), and might exhibit clear giveaways unique to crohn's like aphthous ulcers, cobblestone patterning, and inflammation of the terminal ileum. Crohn's can impact the esophagas, small intestine and anywhere within the gasterointestinal tract.

The colonscopy can only peak a little into the small intestine, no biopsies there. So you're relying on what the large intestine tells you.

Depends on the person who reads the scan, but one cannot see precancer cells.

hopefully, there will be no problem getting into the Terminal Ileum during the c-scope. Didnthe results say ALL of the small intestine were inflamed? Or a part? And which part?
