Hello,

I'm on my 12th week of prednisone (steroids) started with 40 mg and tapered to 5 mg (1 pill ). Before i started the steroids my crp and wbc were high. Then a month after steroids they became normal. Now i have 1 week left of steroids and i got a blood test done yesterday and the results are high wbc and high crp again. Does that mean im relapsing again? Or that the steroids didnt work or that the doctor is going to increase them?
I'm super scared about this blood test result why did the wbc and crp increase after such a strong treatment ?? What should i do and not do please sad

Chances are the steroids were keeping things under control as a maintenance drug. As you reduced the mg, the issue started to creep back in. I had that issue a lot while on prednisone. As soon as I got less than 20mg, everything started to flare back up again.

Same here -- I was dependent on prednisone to keep my disease under control. Now I'm on Entyvio infusions and finally prednisone free.

Biksteeda what did the doctor do whenever u dropped less than 20 mg and relapsed ?

I was always kept at 20mg or higher if things got worse. Prednisone was the last drug to fail me and opted for surgery.

Thanks connor77 for your explanation. I hope i don't need to go back up to 40 mg. This time the skde effects have been treating me bad.
