Hi there, I'm finally out of a month long visit in the hospital due to my biggest flare-up yet, nn-stop bleeding, no signs of remission after any sort of "solution" and it was just an awful time. I started taking remicade and I'm finally on my way to remission, no more blood, only have to go 1-3 times a day etc. It feels great in that regard. My doctor still has me going on prednisone and asacol though and I'm not a big fan but obviousy I'll listen.
However, the last couple of days I have been getting hit hard with side effects of prednisone (might be remicade but I've had prednisone experience before and had some similar side effects each time) and this time they are super irritating and putting a toll on me.
I've been getting crazy acne on my face, which isn't fun to have in college but that's the one thing I can deal with.
My chest has been getting an insane rash as well, I wouldn't say it hurts or anything but it's super irritating and stings pretty much all day, I'm not really sure what it is but considering I know from experience how prednisone can effect your skin on your face I am thinking it's a side effect of that.
Worst of all though and the reason I made this is the leg cramps at night. I need advice on this because it's making sleeping impossible.
4 nights in a row now I have woken up in the middle of the night with major cramps in my knee area and it will last all night as well. I've tried so many things including stretching, covering them in a hot towel, drinking tons of water but all this does is make me more awake at night. The only time it will stop is when I get out of bed for a while which is the opposite of what I want to do because just want a full night sleep for once. Is this normal with prednisone? And can anyone help me with any advice if you have ever been in the same situation. Me and my sleeping schedule would appreciate it so much seeing as I am in College as well and need the energy. Thank you.
