Flaring for 10months

Hi everyone. I've always came here in my time of troubles, to read and realize, once again, I'm not alone in this, but I never made an account till now. The reason I have is because in the last 2 years I've been diagnosed with IC in my bladder and meniere's disease in both ears. I have those 2 under control thank the Lord, but my UC has been out of control for almost 10 months now. about 2 weeks ago for no reason I can see, I came out of the flare and had 2 good weeks, and for yet another reason unbeknownst to me, I'm right back into it. So 10 months, 2 good weeks. I have taken a full course (28 days) of rectal corticosteroid enemas (months ago) At the end I had more bleeding, but I figured it was from the use of the steroids thinning the lining. Once I stopped and went to Mesalamine enemas bleeding quit, but still urgency, and can't trust gas, like AT ALL. So I had taken like 2 weeks of the ME's and then all good, for 2 weeks, now right back to blood with stool, MOSTLY on toilet paper. I can have one decent bowel movement, soft but formed well enough, with just a little red at the very end. Then an hour later it's worse, then later in the day straight D. I don't understand how I have all 3. I've been back on ME's for about a week and a half now. I missed last nights and today was the same 3 as described above. Can just missing one night do that? Dr wants me to take Pred, I don't want too. I'm trying to start the SCD diet, and have been on SCD restricted food for 5 days, but i skipped the intro, cause I didn't realize their was an intro. Starting that tues. Also until they pulled Asacol 400mg, I was only taking that 1 pill 3x daily. With that I had 2 flares a year tops, lasting at MOST a month. Since they put me on delzicol (did nothing as far as I can tell) and I had to switch to Asacol800HD, that is when all this started. Not 10 months bad, but I started getting more and more flares. Can UC move, because I never had to take enemas before 2 yrs ago, and never had the gas expelling stuff issue either. Doc says all my inflammation is in my last 18 inches of colon. Oh Also, sometimes after a day like today, I won't have to go for a day up to 3 days, then it all comes out like today, does that happen to anyone else? Not sure what vitamins to take with the SCD diet, was taking D3 and a standard probiotic. I'm going to try t make the SCD yogurt for probiotics

Diagnosed 2005-6 Been living with this for 12yrs, last 2 have been rough. Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas let me know please

Current Meds: 3 Asacol 800hd 1@7am, 1@3pm @11pm Mesalamine Enemas nightly

My last flare lasted over a year. The only thing that got me into remission was Uceris and 6MP

Thanks for the replys everyone I'm not sure how many grams the 3 asacol 800hd's are, I'm going to go back to nightly no matter what ME's for at least a month, and I've cut all sugar out of my diet that isn't naturally occurring like in apples etc. Michelejc I tried Uceris for a month and didn't see any improvements...does it take longer than that? Therearemiracles, I'm taking the generic ME's, its like $15 for 14, so $30 for a month supply. When I go to put it in, it hurts, it didn't use to, so I'm wondering if it's turned to proctitis? Would the suppositories be an idea worth trying? I've considered switching to lialada before but I've been on asacol from day 1. I used to get terrible cramps, the kind that will knock you over, and be in and out of the bathroom all day, as soon as I got on asacol, almost 12yrs ago, the TERRIBLE cramps stopped, and now it's just mild discomfort when I do flare, but with the occasional mucus (which I'm not having right now), and blood and diarrhea (which I am having right now) which is either because my UC is so low down, OR because the ASACOL is treating the top half just fine, and it's just the lower 12-18 that is staying inflamed. Ideas or thoughts? Thanks so much!!

Thank you IPoop! So twice that amount. Ok My doc hasn't had me go up any because he's not sure it's reaching the part that's currently inflamed.

Hey everyone update. New Doc, and he has me on Lialda or Asacol 800hd for the 4.8grams. I say or, because I have Asacol left, and he gave me a prescription for Lialda. I've been on 2 1200mg pills morning and night for Lialda for 3-4 days now. My stool was a little loose today on the 2nd bm, with just a little blood. The first one was loose as well but no blood no mucous, on either. Not sure if it was something I ate, or if the lialda isn't working. I'm also taking steroid enemas but only had a 14 day course. I have 7days left. I swear I think I do better on meslamine enemas. So a few questions. He wants me to try imuran (scared to death of that, with the cancer risk.) I've had testicular cancer, and my 1st cousion had lymphoma so the big C is close quarters with me and my family. Should I just do pred? Or should I give the lialda more time to work? I've previously been on meslamine enemas nightly, and 3x 800hd Asacol a day. I've started eating spinach cooked into my eggs cause I've heard great things about spinach. My area of inflammation is the lowest 18inches. Thoughts, advice, anything? I'm only having minor bloating, no more than 3 trips to bathroom a day, and somedays none at all, and blood like once a week, if the last 2 weeks hold.
