Well, you're not the only one, as I'm in a similar situation as you, with comparable symptoms. No urgency/blood/mucus, and only 1-2 BM's a day. But pain in similar places, with the addition of distal colon discomfort (oh, and really offensive-smelling gas; my poor wife). Most of the discomfort passes with passing of gas. I don't have that "toxic" feeling you do though, just the messed up bowels.
I'm curious what your GI suggested might be going on? Did he/she suggest a full colonoscopy? I see a PA on Monday, so hopefully I'll know more after that appointment.
Oh, in Sept/Oct I took NSAIDs because of a lower back injury. I believe there is a connection between the NSAID use and my symptoms, but I have no scientific evidence of such.
Yes - in completely the same boat with the gas! I just feel really unpleasant all the time it's so frustrating. My whole stomach feels constantly slightly bloated/gurgly - just like there's always something going on in there, which is not my usual feeling.
He doesn't really say much - isn't the most helpful - and my follow up from this procedure isn't until the end of January, so I really have to wait until then to find out more which is very frustrating.
