I was diagnosis with chronic colitis in 6/2017. I was placed on Humira, Lialda, and VSL3- probotic until 1/2018. After a Sig procedure I was told I was not in remission and my doctor wanted to try 6mp instead of the lialda which will aid with my usage of Himira and boost it to work better. After weekly test my WBC has dropped only after using 6mp for two weeks and I was ask to suspend the usage of the 6mp. I have been asked to go to the lab in two weeks and to stay away from people that are ill and constantly wash my hands.

I'm only taking my Humira injection every other week and probiotics every day. This week I had to go in to the doctor and I was given Septra. Now I'm constipated and seeing blood. I'm so worried.

I have changed my eating habits and I have not been exercising like I know I should ( work in progress).
I have notice since the drug 6mp, I have had more firm bowel movements, not running to the restroom, but blood still occurring and of course I have hemroids.

Please provide me feedback if you can relate. This is all so new for me.

What about adding rectal meds such as mesalamine enemas to the mix. Constipation for me usually means rectal inflammation (which is where colitis flares start--at the bottom) Rectal meds can stop it from progressing and it is more of a tame med (although the idea may take a little while to get used to) I would ask your Dr about getting these for you asap. There is also steroid rectals such as anucort or cortifoam but I would start with Rowasa (Mesalamine enemas) Let us know how it goes.

You're welcome. I would jump on them as soon as you think a flare may be happening. Let us know how things go and if symptoms are still ramping up than I would contact the Dr. Good luck!

Good afternoon,

I’m feeling much better today and I will repeat the enema for about 5 more nights. I know they are trying to find the right combination therapy for me. Can you recommend a vitamin D and turmeric?
