Appetite weirdness after surgery

I’m curious to know if others have had issues with their appetites after steps 1 or 2 of the j-pouch surgery. I had step 2 surgery a week and a half ago, and I still feel like my appetite is ... off. It’s not full-on nausea, just a general sense of unease after eating. Only a few foods sound good to me, and I can only eat tiny portions.
I don’t remember this being an issue after step 1. That time around, I had been so sick every time I had for months that eating felt great afterward, although I know it took a week or two for my appetite to approach normal levels.
Anyone else had appetite issues?

I was apprehensive about the second surgery, but in a lot of ways it felt easier than the first. I knew the hospital setup, I knew basically what surgery would be like, and I wouldn't be learning how to care for an ostomy for the first time. I had very little pain after surgery, which was great. A little more nausea after anesthesia, which seems to be the most persistent issue. I'm also having some skin issues with my ostomy that haven't been fun, but that's just luck of the draw, and I'm pretty confident they will resolve.
I hear you about the anxiety ... I had a hard time thinking about the second surgery, because I felt so healthy after the first one, and I didn't want to go back to being sick again. I'm sure not looking forward to the third surgery ... Enough is enough! But, when I think back to how sick I was before surgery, I'd go through these surgery steps any day.

I kept telling myself it's the anesthesia, but the back of my brain keeps worrying it's a sign of something else. Good to know other people have had extended effects.

That's great that your recovery has gone so well! Luckily, hydration is one thing I've been able to stay on top of.

The loop has been a bit difficult to adjust to. Mine points down enough that it’s hard to get output not to pool around the stoma and get under the seal. But I hope I’ll get some sort of system worked out.

Are you using a convex wafer? It's really important with the liquid output from the Loop. I also added the Coloplast Brava protective barrier sheet for the base, I never had a problem after that.

The sheet go underneath everything (first thing down), you cut a hole in the sheet for the stoma. So if there is seepage or a leak it sits on the sheet and not your skin.

The barrier STRIPS go around (the last thing on) wafer and helps it from coming off/leaking.

I used both the sheets and the strips with the convex wafer and never had a problem after I switched to that set up with my loop ileo. I had nothing but problems with it prior to that.

what brand ostomy supplies are you using? I prefered Coloplast, especially their accessories. I tried Hollister at first but didn't like their bags.
