Dysplasia is found in abnormal polyp cells which could lead to cancer. small bowel is normal, hence "unremarkable."

But.....I dont have the REAL symptoms everyone here complains about!
... Like I mentioned, I never saw blood, I usually have one BM a day, although its always very soft. Never have any urgency.

I also figure maybe I have a very mild case? When reading this forum (and I've been through quite a bit of it) It seems like so many people are flaring/having pretty bad symptoms etc. Then again UC'ers would usually turn to here when trouble hits. There are probably thousands (I HOPE!) of people out there with mild UC that never really come here and doesnt affect them much.

Another point: Any recommendations as to what medicine I should take? I honestly trust veteran members on here more than what my doc. would say.(I'm actually looking for a new one)
After my scope he prescribed 40mg of pred!
I didnt touch it though. I felt my symptoms NO way required such a strong dose/med.
I actually dont want to take any meds. Am I being irresponsible? If i'm in remission state why take anything? I know its been mentioned that I could flare in the future. But that seems to happen anyway?
Should I take request something like asacol, pentasa?

I would recommend some daily regimen. Unless you know you get bad side effects form pred, I will reconsider the short 40mg taper prescribed - but only in conjunction with another med. Something has to take over when the pred tapers.

You might be able to get by with anti-inflammatroy food and supplements and not prescription med. Cases vary. In your favor you have not had many symptoms. Against you, you have pancolitis, which is more of concern, and you have ulcerations, which are more than "mild". I would also speculate that you need to aggressively monitor ever few years for colon cancer, because you have evidence tat you can have serious extent with ulceration and not have much symptoms. Your worst case could be that the inflammation gets ignored because you do not have lots of symptoms, and then the inflammation causes cancer and removal of your colon.

IF you tolerate it well, some type of mesalamine would be the standard of care. If another scope shows inflammation cleared up in future, then you could consider trying with anti-inflammatory foods and/or probiotics alone.

I would also recommend any blood or fecal test for inflammation. Getting one of these tests when the amount of inflammation is know is an important individual calibration. If on retest it goes up or down, than that can be thought of as relative to what was seen on you scope.

As someone with moderate pancolitis, I highly recommend maintenance meds now. Looking back, there was evidence I had UC before my diagnosis, but it was almost like what you are talking about. I had a couple bm' s here and there with some mucous and right before things blew up, a couple with a bit of blood. Then all h broke loose and I ended up in the hospital for a week. I still havnt gotten things under control over a year later.

I'm gonna get on some medication...

When I was first diagnosed, my colitis was very mild. I had only 1 BM and little blood. Not everyone has all the symptoms. Symptoms depend on where and how much inflammation you have. If you have more inflammation in end, you are likely to have blood. If inflammation more at the beginning of colon where water gets absorbed, you might have diarrhea.

For first flare, I took 30,20,10 mg of prednison for 3 weeks and went into remission and maintained with Asacol for 2 years and then decided to stop Asacol and had the worst flare. So I would recommend to go on some kind of mesalamine- oral and rectal. Hope you get in remission soon and for very long time.
