1st scope post pancolitis flare

Hey all - had my first follow up scope after sev pancolitis flare in Sept. I still have 20cm of moderate inflammation, mostly around splenic fixture. So disappointed - I have the pics, and it looks like raw meat. Rest of colon looks normal.

I’m thrilled that majority of itlooks normal, but curious if lingering patch of inflammation is common with pancolitis. Seems odd there is just one patch. If you’ve had it, curious how much longer it took to heal.

Yes, this can be normal with ulcerative pancolitis. Healing isn't always even when you are coming out of a bad flare. The biopsies tell the story more than anything. See if you can get the pathology report. The pathologist will undoubtedly say whether they think the inflammation is consistent with U.C. or not.

My last colonoscopy showed a moderate patch of inflammation in the cecum, with everything else looking pretty normal. The biopsies showed that the inflammation was throughout the colon, but very mild almost everywhere except the cecum.

If you're taking rectal meds they might be fully healing the rectum but not going far enough to heal everything. Ask about taking 2 rowasa at night?

Enemas make it up to the splenic flexure.
