I am recovering from my worst flare ever and have also experienced significant hair loss. I'm guessing I've lost somewhere between half to two-thirds of my hair. I'm surprised by how much continues to come out each day, when it already seems like I have so little left. While my flare has significantly improved, I did just notice there's still some bleeding. I'm on my third dose of Entyvio and have my fourth dose coming up in two weeks. Anemia has been part of the problem, but I agree with others about
the overall illness and medications also causing havoc on my hair, or lack there of. My hairstylist just gave me some Monat hair products that she uses and swears by. I just started them this week, so too early for results, but I am hopeful. What has helped me the most is a hair piece I bought about
a month ago. I went to a local wig shop and the gal in the store recommended a hair piece rather than a full wig. She cut it to match my current bob and it gives me the additional body and hair I am currently missing. It is oval shaped (about
2" by 4") and sits on the crown of my head. It attaches to the hair with 4 clips and nobody even knows I have a hair piece in. It gives me a little extra boost of confidence, which I needed, since I'm currently about
20 pounds below my normal weight and don't fit into hardly any of my normal clothes.
Hang in there. From what I've read, it will come back... My hemotologist said it can take up to a year.
