He doesn't want to take it because he doesn't want to be reliant on having to take steroids to induce remission every time he has a flare-up. So he would rather only do enema/take mesalamine and just wait for it to get better than use steroids to induce a remission.

I don't know how to argue with him anymore. He can do whatever he wants and I will just worry until he gets better.

Yes it's normal to just suddenly cease uceris/entocort ec after an 8-week course. They're delayed-release coated tablets of one dosage that cannot be cut/split into smaller pieces. As they're 90% topical there should be no or minimal withdrawal symptoms anyways (what a taper hopes to avoid).

You can only recommend best practice and encourage. Let him try it his way, if it doesn't work after a while then suggest your idea again. Many of us truly have a love/hate relationship with steroids, so being hesitant to take them is no surprise (especially if he's no completely miserable).
