Although generally diarrhea is thought to be when BM's are liquid, if you dig around enough, medically it is actually either liquid bm's or a significant increase in stool volume both of which lead to more frequent bathroom trips. If you're forced to play doctor, you'll have to ask the slightly embarrassing questions like stool consistency and volume. It's not a great replacement for a doctor's diagnoses but if there is medically diarrhea, there are multiple mechanisms you can address with relatively low risk. If diarrhea is not present medically speaking and it's just an increased in stool frequency with lower volume, there are a different set of mechanisms you can address.
These would only be considering you've ruled out dietary factors and possible pathogens by this point so most of us will recommend doctor but I am still willing to give you ideas for just the BM reduction if you can narrow down the factors. For me reducing stool volume did lead to feeling better overall and less bleeding/inflammation.
