Yes, but let me add that there is this lock and key deal that goes on with all the various specialized T-Cells in the body that fight various invaders. The QBECO SSI is referred to as a vaccine. And as I understand, it specifically provides the key to unlock the specific T-Cell that prevents E. coli from causing infections. That is my hazy grasp, but really the SER-287 sounds like it really is just a probiotic formulation.
On a side note, it distresses me that the FMT and probiotic trials are in my opinion not tested properly (probably due to cost) and therefore we will not really learn what we otherwise could. Since everyone's microbiome is different, we don't really know how effective these trials are in changing the microbiome, since there is no before and after testing. This is important on many levels, especially since we don't know what the ideal microbiome we should strive is in order to halt this disease. In addition a pre-test of the microbiome may help us understand who may benefit most from these treatments, since they do help some.
