UBiome negative for all bacteria

I will retest for c diff since I was positive then neg on recent doctors test, but uBiome was all negative for all bacteria.

So I’m doing my own treatment experiment. 2 Zantac 150mg, 2 Valtrex, 2 lysine. Morning and night. I’m on a full 24 hours so far. I’m trying to figure out if my Crohn’s/ UC is a reoccurring viral infections. There are 8/9 different types of herpvirus s . I’ve ordered organic wild oregano , will possibly add it in.

I have had shingles a few times, on my butt cheeks. Lately I’ve had a painful nerve pain left side of face, just wind blowing over it , it hurt. No breakout though.

Im going for more blood tests this week, the ELISA test , want to check for CPN and CMV virus again. I’m experimenting.

Doctor don’t want to think the ulcers, painful bloody stool is a virus infection. No opened mind doctors around me anyways. I’ve found articles that say it can be.

Hope the further testing states something tangible.

Why do you state Crohns/UC? It's Crohns colitis.....or indeterminate?

One doctor says Crohn’s, my other rectal doctor said no way it’s UC, so no doctor has agreed on same diagnosis. Ulcers in my colon .

UBiome was covered by my insurance, it was like $2500. Test. Just amazing to me. They must believe in the company and its testing.

I am a bit unclear on what you are saying. Are you all clear on just pathogenic bacteria? Do you have good bacteria and what does Ubiome say about the overall population?

I’m low on good bacteria like bifido, I don’t Even understand all of the test and my MD won’t even Look at it becausethey know nothing about it.

"I don’t Even understand all of the test and my MD won’t even Look at it because they know nothing about it." That's the biggest reason I haven't taken that uBiome test. If "what does it mean?" is something you cannot get answers to then the value of it is quite limited.

At least you now have a baseline, now you can change things (i.e., change your diet, or get a FMT) and then later do another uBiome to see if you improve (and that would be the most value to it now, I think). Our gut biome and the concentrations of various families of bacteria is representative of what we eat. A greater variety of foods generally produces a wider diversity of bacterium families. Over the years we've had people take the test and try diet and/or supplements to try and change things. One poster said Grape Seed Extract helped change his results for the better, forget what it changed exactly.

We generally understand that all IBD patients are going to have very wacky gut bacterium concentrations (all of us do, more or less expected). Some will say that's the cause of an IBD, others will say it is a symptom of UC (like me). Up to the reader to decide lol. It's all opinion as there is no absolute right or wrong accepted by scientific research on that matter.
