My doctor prescribed me to take digestive enzyme capsules containing pancratin.is it safe to take them? I heard it can make your body dependent on these enzymes and stop making its own.

Why did he specifically prescribe them.....anything related to your pancreas, because if you aren't producing it, it might be a necessity to use it. Dependent as in diabetics are dependent on insulin?

My stools consistency is loose..i had chickenpox last month and after that UC symptoms started..BM's decreased to 2 per day with no blood but consistency is still loose so he told me to take these 250 mg enzyme capsules twice a day after meal..right now i am on 30 mg pred and 3.6g mes..i also tried anti D tablets but consistency didn't improved much..its semi solid not well formed like before

I suggest you do a search on it... check out the side effects, and make a decision.
