Remission with blood?

Is it possible to be in remission of I seeing blood? NOT a lot but almost every day on the wipe and half ther days mucus and blood in the poop?

Unfortunately if you are seeing blood that often it just is not considered remission by the pros in this community or by your doctor. You may be improving and much less inflamed but you are not n remission.

Not unless the blood is from an anal fissure or hemorrhoids.

Ditto the above. Not a remission if the blood is from active UC inflammation. Could be a remission if the blood is confirmed to be from a hemorrhoid or some other non-uc issue.

When was your last check for inflammation, a colonoscopy/flex-sig, FCP stool test, or CRP blood test? That might help answer what is causing the blood.

How are your other uc symptoms? Any urgency, how many bms a day, etc.

Yes. The Dr confirmed its UC bleeding. For years I would flare every spring and fall like clockwork. I'd up the meds and the flare would end and then I'd be fine for the next 6 months. But this time, I've been experiencing these mild symptoms persistently since April. So I thought maybe this is my 'new normal'. And wondered is this normal?
Just switched Dr's. My old one was good but I had to wait months for an appointment. My new one sent me for a whole blood workup. Everything came out fine. CRP is good. Now she wants to do a colonoscopy. My last ones was 1 1/2 yrs ago when my condition morphed into Pan colitis. S he wants to see if the scd diet is helping.

Other symptoms come and go so randomly. I'll have a bout of d for a day.... One day I'll feel crazy fatigued.... Another day I'll feel gassy and crampy ...e/t intermittent and random. And I'm scd 100% no cheating!

You arent on enough medication.....for sure, get on retention enemas.

What's normal for a UC patient is a sustained remission without any UC symptoms: no blood, no urgency, formed stools, and only a couple bms a day. Anything less and you are flaring.

Your UC has likely progressed in extent and/or severity. As a result of that progression, you now need stronger dosages of your current medications and/or additional medications to control your UC going forward. Flaring twice a year, like clockwork just screams "under-managed case and under-medicated." The goal of our treatment is to find a combination of meds that keep you in a solid remission for years.

Thank you all for your very informative responses.I realize nite ghost I m in a flare and it's not ok. I put myself on the cancellation list so I can try to move up my colonoscopy (it's scheduled for Oct-that's their earliest availability!) And I'll take it from there
I'm scared to move up to the next level of meds 😥
