Worried

Was recently enjoying remission on inflectra biologic treatment (infliximab).
Had elevated liver enzymes so was took off the treatment. Was off treatment about 6 months before all the bleeding, diarrhoea and constipation returned.
Am now on vedolizumab and have had 2 infusions so far and absolutely nothing has changed.
However, since I've been on it I am hardly eating, get full after eating very little and have been vomiting while on the toilet.
The nurse has told me that I am probably needing to vomit while on the toilet because of constipation, but I am a bit sceptical. Normal people don't vomit when constipated.
Am also on a maintenence dose of 10mg of prednisolone which doesn't seem to do anything and prednisolone foam enema too.
Im not seeing the gastro specialist until next week but am very worried that there is something else a lot more serious going on. I don't ever remember feeling full up after eating so little before. That is definitely not a symptom of colitis. And vomiting while straining on the toilet?

I've lost a lot of weight and am hardly eating because I just feel full up. But I Cant be. Very strange

Hopefully you will have more investigation as to what's going on.....including stool samples, full bloodwork, imaging.

Just throwing this in there...is surgery an option?

Thanks for the reply. I am only 27 and really don't want surgery. But I understand that its likely I will definitely need it done one day, probably sooner than I expected. I just don't understand why the inflectra wasn't given another go. There was no evidence to suggest it was definitely that which caused the elevated liver enzymes. It could have been the octasa for all they know. And surely I should have been given humira before vedolizumab? Vedolizumab is the last thing they apparently try before surgery. It just seems like they want me to have surgery to be honest.

Sorry to read about all of the problems you have going on. The nurse was correct, vomiting while being constipated is very real. I have had this happen a few times when I was pretty constipated. Like you, I could only eat a little & would feel full. I would be looking for something to help unplug the plumbing now. Laxatives can be too harsh, look for some stool softners. It can take several days for one to kick in, but they are milder than any laxative.
