Ok now that all surgeries are done when does stool get formed-immodium???

I had my takedown about 5 months ago. I'm taking immodium with breakfast and dinner. It's not that I absolutely have to, but I like when my output is on the firmer side, and it has kind of become a habit by now. I also take psyllium husk (mixed with water or something) for the same reason.

I think I waited a couple of weeks after takedown with both of these though. I can't really remember exactly what my stool was like in the beginning, but it was probably kind of loose.

You will learn what foods will help you add bulk. Stuff like potatoes, pasta, rice, and white bread usually work well for me.

It's really true what people say; you will notice improvements for a long time. I was freaking out after my takedown since it almost felt like having UC back (it really wasn't like anything like it, but I was so used to having an ileostomy by that point). Now I'm doing great (knock on wood), and I am very happy that I went for the j-pouch. I am going maybe 4-5 times per day, which might sound a lot to some people, but it doesn't interfere with my life at all. Usually 2 times in the morning before work, once in the afternoon and once in the evening. But it took a while to get to this point.

Just spoke with nurse and she said Drs want no imodium yet which doesn't sound great. Might mean a lot of accidents while sleeping meaning less sleep which isn't great. She showed me wee wee pads to use or I Quess I could get diapers. Dr should be in in a few hours so I'll ask what's best

My consistency varies a lot. Sometimes it's little balls, other times it's mush, sometimes there's liquid - sometimes it's a mix of all. For me, it doesn't matter too much, it all empties quickly, painlessly, and I can hold it, the only issue is clean up. Sometimes when it's mush you have to use a lot of paper. I've never had accidents, but I know a lot of people do. I'd probably wear something, unless it's simply from waiting too long, and you can set an alarm? I am a VERY light sleeper, so I would definitely wake up to go, even if it was 6x. Did you take any pain meds since you peed? If so, they can make it harder to wake up.

In the beginning, you will go a lot, and the consistency is likely to be very liquidy, but over time, it will be less, and thicker. I really only went to the toilet a few times yesterday. I went to work from 8-5 and didn't go once, ate a big lunch too. It takes weeks/months though for sure, not days.

Have you felt the need to go? For me, it's the same as before, only difference is that I can hold it. I am almost 3 years out. I don't usually take imodium. I am not too concerned with consistency. My surgeon said some people are, others aren't. I would take it if it took me from 5x a day to 2x, but it doesn't.

I wonder what time the mess happened? Can you set an alarm for every 3 or 4 hours right now and empty?
