I have been recently diagnosed with chrons diseade, tried different medications and now am on Rowasa enema nightly, I’ve noticed I look and feel huge! I’m so bloated I look pregnant has anyone experienced this with Rowasa? I lost a lot of weight since my diagnosis I don’t eat regular food I basically life on corn flakes all day but I went to the dr recently and the scale said I put on 4 lbs? I know I shouldn’t be worried about
my weight but I was wondering if anyone has experienced the weight go up on the scale while bloated? I don’t know how I could put on weight I definitely look like I put on 10 lbs since this medicane so if anyone can help me if they have been bloated with Rowasa it will help put my mind at ease!

Are you on steroids, like prednisone? I ask as those are the most likely candidate for bloating and water retention. I have not heard of rowasa causing bloating, and do not believe it can cause that....

I just started Pred 2 days ago, only a one month tapering I’m worried about
the weight gain on that but everyone is telling me a month of every week going lower won’t make me put on the actual weight, I’ve had the bloating since before I started it

Prednisone can add water-weight that comes off a few weeks after ceasing it. Prednisone can make our appetites insatiable, which can lead to weight gain that doesn't come off from ceasing it.
Avoid high salt intake, while on pred as that increases water retention. I'd keep your salt intake low while on pred.

I’m only on 20mg for 5 days then tapering down so my dr says it doesn’t add weight endless it’s at high dowsed for more than a month which I’m hoping is the case and she isn’t trying to make me feel better, I told her I didn’t want to be on Pred for that reason bc I heard about
it she tells me to stop googling stuff but it’s hard being an 18 year old girl having to worry about
putting on weight. I don’t eat a lot of actual food but I’ll make sure I don’t have a lot of salt thank you!

Flaring and healing are part of having bloating.
I wouldn't stop the enemas until you give them a fair trial.
I suggest you eat a better diet...add more proteinmsuch as eggs, potatoes, etc. Milk is notorious for creating gas. Eat more actual food....
Antispasmodics can help as well.....

I was just diagnosed 2 months ago we have tried apriso, I have fistulas in my small intestine so as of now I eat all I can I try to incorporate more into my diet but as of right now I’ve had no relief. I’m all about
eating a good diet when I start to feel better and can eat the thins I need do you have any diet suggestions? I know the major things are staying away from sugars and stuff like that but it’s hard to find stuff without any sugar. Is there a certain kind of sugars that are allowed? Such as I know high fructose corn syrup Is to be stayed clear of. I’ve always had a seeet tooth and live in a house with a family who doesn’t eat good food which i know is going to be a struggle once I get into remission. Thanks for the help I appreciate it!
