I know sometimes we run into people that are not supportive. Unfortunately, I know that some of you don't have very much support, and I am sorry for that. I thought it would be nice to share things where we have felt supported.
Your 13 year old getting off of the toilet before she has a chance to go because I need it urgently.
My family never complaining about
waiting for me when I am stuck in the bathroom. Even when we left somewhere not even 5 minutes ago.
My whole family pitching in to help extra when I don't have the energy.

My husband plunging out the shower drain when I could not get out of there in time during a flare and clogged it up with gooey, mucousy, poop. No word of complaint.

Spring, this is so important!
I would be lost without my family’s support and understanding. Even my 9 year old is amazing about
this stupid disease and he has no patience for anything. My husband is my saving grace, he has picked up all of my slack as I have been flaring this fall and my parents have been driving my kids to many of their after school activities for the last two weeks so I can “rest.”
I would like to add that everyone here has been so helpful to me over the years and I would be lost without this forum. I spoke with my husband’s former stepfather who does IBD research at UC San Diego yesterday and he couldn’t believe I knew so much about
the disease and all the med options, all of which I learned about
here!

Love and support is....
Texting to ask if you had a good/poop day.
Sitting patiently in the car, as you poop in the woods.
When your SO doesn't complain or act selfish when plans are unexpectedly dashed at the last moment due to your flare symptoms.
Giving you a gift basket with bum wipes, extra soft charmin tp, and a hot water bottle when you flare.
Listening patiently and understandingly as we go on for the upteenth time about
our bowel worries.
SO not complaining when it's his/her time to get a colonoscopy as we've had bazillions of them and have zero sympathy for their worries about
having just one.
