Had a Flex Sig today, had problems not being able to go 2-3 days, then going minimal.
Gastro Dr.Took specimens but won’t have results for few days. Thought I was improving some, after scheduling this and maybe the 2 saline solution prep enemas made inflammation worse??
I’m debating abt doing Mesalamine enemas nightly for Few wks, Instead of taking Prednisone.
I did try 10 days of the Ene Few wks back, did seem to help with blood, but not other symptoms.
He said today it was so swollen, he couldn’t go up far at all.
Wanted to hear your experience, if you think I should try daily Ene first or start the Prednisone ?
Thanks!

No one likes to take prednisone but if your doc said you’re that inflamed, I would follow his orders and take it to get that inflammation under control.

Thanks for your response, Bye Bye, did fill the prescript
ion, so I’ll follow Dr. orders. I’ve had the Pred taper early in my treatment, for a flare, when prob wasn’t really necessary, but guess this time it is.

Preps can cause only superficial-redness. What your doctor saw was not caused by your prep. It sounds like a disconnect between symptoms and actual inflammation, which I've experienced myself and is shocking. I thought I was doing well, and the scope says you're a train-wreck inside.
Why not do both? Take the nightly enemas and the pred. Not sure the length or dosage of pred you are talking about
. Would be good to know, if you know.
