EnteraGam (serum-derived bovine immunoglobulin/protein isolate, SBI)

Anyone on here ever tried the above?

Christmas dinner doesn't always go over well for many with IBD/IBS-D so I thought I would share the link and see if anyone knows of the above product. It's actually owned by RedHill Biopharma. I thought it was pretty unique in the way that it works. I think back to the days of endless trips to the bathroom and wonder how/if this might have worked/helped.

Hadn't heard of it honestly but it sounds intriguing. The increased urination as a side effect makes me wonder if pyy or cortisol are involved. I'll post back if I find useful info.

I've seen it mentioned more on the crohn's board than here, but it has come up here a few times and I haven't seen any miraculous success stories. I haven't tried it myself but one of the women I know from here was using it for her UC (in addition to other rx medication) and she ended up having surgery, so I guess it didn't work for her. Maybe it would be better for more mild cases.

I'm seeing it as more a way to deal with symptoms rather than inflammation or damage. I think it would be useful in combination with other things. I'm probably going to try something similar.

I think that's good logic. Don't expect a miracle but give it a shot and see if it helps the day to day. If you can manage symptoms and get inflammation at bay that is ideal, but if it helps with either one of those things, that's a positive. i'd give it a try!

Hi all,
I tried this product approximately 2 years ago (in sachet form) and hoped that it would be a great addition for me. I manage with Mezavant as maintenance and add probiotics when flaring, but I am somewhat undertreated and wanted something else I could add to my arsenal. But unfortunately I never noticed any benefit with the Enteragam, I tried it for about 2 months, but it didn’t make an ounce of difference so I gave up.

hmmm sounds interesting like you say as a support to symptoms given I have both UC and IBD-D. Although it says its not a probiotic sounds similar ie as a support and obviously doesn't work for everyone

I agree, although I don’t want to discourage anyone with my lack of success as my Dr said that it works wonders in some patients. I just wasn’t one of them unfortunately!

Mentioned here-and-there over the years on the forum. Not a miracle by anymeans. Just, yet another thing to try.

Standard disclaimer: one size never fits all, your results will vary. What works miraculously for one, does absolutely nothing for another, and might even make another's symptoms a whole lot wose.

Try and see, if you're so inclined, and report back. Lots of things to try, a few might work, many will not. Cheers!
