Hey guys,
Almost positive I'm flaring (made another post)....I'm not sure if I should have my GI dr. paged so I can talk to someone immediately, or if I should wait until Monday when they
open. What would you guys do? I'm worried that if I page him now there's nothing anyone will be able to do until Monday, and I'll just piss him off. What would you guys do?

Start the enemas and call on Monday. You could request to come and get a fecal test kit. But your symptoms as per other posts are more than hemmies.
Learn YOUR symptoms and trust what you know. It's not happening in your doc's butt....plain and simple.

I live in a country where it's not possible to contact my GI doctor over the weekend....so, unless it's a medical emergency (fever, dehydration etc) I would wait until Monday.

I would say it depends on your doctor. If your doctor tells you to reach out right away, call over the weekend. If that door hasn’t been
opened, I would do what Quincy said and start enemas and call first thing Monday morning. When in doubt, I send a message via the online patient portal and they can get back to me or not over the weekend. If you have that as an option, give it a go.

How bad's the flare? If it is minor/moderate then wait until Monday. Severe flare then call asap.

He/she has relatively mild symptoms according to their other post (blood on TP) although i really shouldn't speak on behalf of somebody else.

I just think that everyone should be allowed to have down time to recover their energy and not get a burnout. Without that you can't function optimally during the office hours. Tired doctors make mistakes. Obviously a medical emergency requires urgent treatment. Beginning of a flare can wait until after the weekend.

Doing okay, Quincy thanks for asking. I decided to wait (and use some enemas while I did).

I wish I had someone I could have talked to over the weekend about
it, though. I didn't call because I didn't think she'd respond well...

Its finally Monday! You made it! Weekends are the worst when flaring. It just feels like wasted time. But at least this community here makes it a little more bearable.
Try call as soon as your doc office
opens. If they are anything like mine, they'll order blood and stool tests. I recently learned that the fecal calprotectin can take about
a week to get back (more waiting), so try to do that asap.
Hope you feel better soon!

Hey guys, thought I'd update. The Doctor said It is a flare (confirmed via rectal exam), caught at a very early stage. They're giving me enemas daily to see if we can get the inflammation down without steroids but my 2 week progress will determine next steps. Thank you everyone for the support.

Aha....lol.
You will need longer than 2 weeks on the enemas. Are they mesalamine and what dosage?
Thanks for the update.
Let us know how you're doing on them,

Yeah I think so too. I think the 2 week thing was just when he wanted to assess progress though not the total duration. I'm on 1 enema per night (4g/60mL). But now you guys have me thinking about
wanting to do it in the morning too...

Good on 4g...yay!
How many times a day? Doesn't seem you need them twice daily, but if your urgency is unbearable, worth a try.
