I know there was a post when the new citrate-free Humira came out but I haven't seen anything about it since then, so I wanted to share my experience with it. I've been on Humira for about 3 years and, yes, most of the time the sting was pretty bad. For anyone who has been nervous about trying Humira if it's the treatment route recommended by your doctor, I can tell you the injection is indeed way less painful with the new version. This is coming from someone with an extremely low pain threshold. Of course, everyone's experiences can vary and there is more to consider besides the pain, but just wanted to put that out there. The first couple times, there was just some burning/stinging around the injection site after the needle came out, but it wasn't as intense. The last two times...no pain whatsoever. I didn't feel a thing! I use the pen and inject into my stomach. So yeah, just wanted to share that in case it helps anyone. Hopefully it's accessible to those who need it.
