Hello all,
I was diagnosed 10 years ago with UC but up until my flare which started 3 weeks ago, I had been in remission for 6 years. Due to this, I’m having a hard time remembering what exactly is a promising sign or not. I have now been on 4.8 g of lialda a day for the last 2 weeks and 60 mg of prednisone for 3 days. At the worst of the flare I was going 12-15 times a day with lots of blood. I am now going 8-10 times a day with little to no blood. The blood I see can best be described as a rust color. Unfortunately half of my BM’s are from 2-8 am which is really killing the amount of sleep I can get. Is this something rectal meds would likely be able to help? For whatever reason, my GI did not bring them up.
Also, some of my BM’s are slightly more solid (a bunch of pebbles basically). When I release them however, it’s very uncomfortable and causes some nausea. I do remember this happening last flare but I don’t remember if this was a signal that I was getting better or not. It’s more solid but more pain and nausea Is associated with it. Any and all help is very much appreciated — thank you!
