I am also from India and if you dont mind, I want to tell you something that dont get into hands of those charlatans who says they will cure the deseases and you will be med free. It is common for us to frustarted when regular medicines not working and want to try different medications but it does not mean that you have to stop all the medicines. You have freedom to try alternate medication and will be happy if that works for you but i strictly waurn you against stopping all meds. Recently one of my friend having epilepsy was trying on ayurveda and had stopped all the meds as told by so called ayurveda doctor and now he is in hospital struggling for his life. So, i just want to convey this and leave everything else for your descretion.

Here's the thing. At the moment I'm using western medicine to keep me alive (because my colitis is that severe). If my doctor retires or i move to another town i know what I'm taking and it's pretty straightforward to continue my treatment somewhere else. Apart from the prohibitive price, i felt that taking powders forever from the ayurvedic doctor merely shifted the dependency from the national healthcare system to one individual. What would happen if he dies or retires or moves back to india? I didn't feel safe to give one person so much power over my life. I found it degrading that he thinks its ok to prescribe powders without telling me what they are. I even asked him what the powders were and he refused to tell me and said he can only get them himself in india. (I did see that one of them said psyllium on the jar ha ha). Also with the powders if they can stop colitis they must be pretty strong stuff and i was afraid they could interact with other medications that I'm taking (for example, there's an ayurvedic supplement called ashwagandha which disrupts immune function and will prevent any immunomodulating medicine from doing what it's supposed to). I do hope this works for you but please keep your wits on you especially when it comes to needing to hand over large sums of money.

I would be very cautious regarding ayurvedic supplements.

1. There is no evidence that it works (no double blinded controlled trials)
2. There is no evidence that it is safe (no trials on safety).

Regarding to your trust to a "unknown powder".

1. It can be easily placebo (many of us respond to placebo very well)
2. It can contain pollutants (you have no idea where it comes from)

Some of ayurvedic herbs are dangerous. They can cause cancer for example.
I can not remember the name of such herb, but I have read a trustworthy article about it.
Ayurvedic herbs contain plenty of alkaloids and nobody knows what these alkaloids do to our body in long term using.

Ok so as I said before I am trying it only after my relative was cured from it and yesterday only I had a long talk with her and she told that she didnt get any other side effect from it and its drinks dairy , gluten ,spices ,everything . This is my last reply I dont want to answer or give any further reply to anyone . I will put a new post after 6 months of whether I am cured or my disease worsened, till than bye bye , take care , god bless you all !
