I believe the correlation is that some who are 1st diagnosed with PCS are later diagnosed with an UC. It is not the other way around, to the best of my knowledge.
This is my understanding too. Having UC is not a large risk for PSC. Having PSC is a big risk for also having UC.

Although a large percentage of people diagnosed with PSC have ulcerative colitis, experts don’t understand the connection between the two diseases. What’s more puzzling is that only about 4 percent of those with ulcerative colitis will get PSC, according to Daniel Pratt, MD, chair of the medical advisory committee for the American Liver Foundation and clinical director of liver transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
“There are lots of patients who have ulcerative colitis who don’t have PSC, but most patients with PSC have ulcerative colitis,” Dr. Pratt says.
If your liver and kidneys have not shown consistent elevation in past tests, any you have no signs of jaundice, it may be very unlikely you have PSC. It is easy to feel a pain, or get an odd pattern of UC symptoms and start to wonder if you have this or that. Just asking the docs about
the possibility, or inquiring into a useful blood test might be all that is needed right now.
