Hey everyone,
I wrote a little bit about
this before but if you're in a position where perhaps you have left-sided UC (rectum / sigmoid) and your GI thinks that Rowasa might help--don't give up! There's a chance it might get you into remission. I believe, based on my own experience, that patients get frustrated with enemas early on and just give up hope. They are uncomfortable, hard to administer, hard to hold in, messy, you name it. It happened to me, I tried them for a week about
a year ago and did them kind of half-assed (no pun intended!) and got frustrated and stopped. But recently my doc told me to really commit myself to them, and I did. I did a ton of research and watched tutorials and read other people's experiences about
how to use them properly and successfully and stuck with it. After about
two weeks, I achieved remission. I can't scientifically prove it was Rowasa (as I'm on a bunch of other stuff too) but I know my body and I believe they were what worked for me.
Anyways, just wanted to give those who are down and out about
enemas and Rowasa a little hope. Just stick with it. Be brave. Do your research. Give it your all! And you may get the results you're hoping for. I know I did
And I'm happy to answer questions if people are like, how they hell do you use these things?! Ha. Take care out there!
