I'm just trying to understand what these stats mean.

Results
For cohort studies, the pooled SIR was 1.33 (95% CI = 1.03–1.71). The further subgroup analysis showed that the PCa risk was higher in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) (pooled SIR = 1.58, 95% CI = 1.08–2.30), but not in patients with Crohn’s disease (CD) (pooled SIR = 1.12, 95% CI = 0.97–1.31). Besides, for the three case-control studies, the results indicated that compared with normal group, the pooled RR of PCa was 1.81 for the patients with IBD (95% CI = 1.43–2.29). In addition, sensitivity analysis indicated that the results were robust and no significant publication bias were observed.

SIR is standard incidence ratio
SIR of 1 means that there is a normal, or similar response in the general population.
They usually quote a 95% confidence level.

An SIR of 1.43 means that there the risk of getting prostate cancer is 1.43 times as great as 'normal'.
So if the risk was 0.1 per cent, then it would become 0.143 per cent .... still small.

Overall lifetime risk is around 11% so for UC patient it would be around 15% if my math is correct. Thanks ambling.

Someone should perform a study comparing rates of cancer between those who treat their Ulcerative Colitis with 5-ASAs and those who treat it with biologics.

I think the variables in disease severity would make that study difficult to interpret.
