Dear All,
It's been been a miserable 2019 and 2020 isn't getting better. I've a rash/hemorrhoid around the anus outside, and they're large enough to feel with my fingers. They're very very itchy and cleaning up after going potty is very painful because they burn. I've tried hemorrhoid creams but it doesn't seem to get much better.
I'm just sick of going to the physician time and time again.
Any advice would help.

Get a bidet spray attachment or bidet toilet seat. I've seen them mentioned here several times. Available on Amazon and other online retailers.

Calmoseptine can be helpful for short term irritation relief and healing. It is available over the counter. Sometimes you have to ask the pharmacist for it.

Ditto the calmoseptine. I get a lot of tiny fissures that burn and had always used Diaper rash zinc oxide but hated the greasy feeling. Calmoseptine does have a menthol in it that irritates my sensitive areas so Im careful where I apply it but I love how it stays put and is more dry than wet.

Sounds like you have a fungal infection around your anus, if treated it should go away quickly.

what treatments have you tried?

I second the probability of a fungal infection. I suggest to call your doctor and ask to try it....or try Lotrimin AF which might be in the baby section.

You said that you had a rough year in 2019, maybe you should talk to your GI about stronger medication to get you into Remission if you are not in it already. I'd also question why you have or might have a Yeast infection. I'd encourage you to be proactive and be an advocate for yourself and your health, doctors usually do not check on their patients unless they are changing medications or just got out of the hospital.

Do not give up or avoid reaching out to your doctor, you will not get well that way.

Agree with others. It's a fungal infection. A little goes a long way as my GI said. Use sparingly and externally only.

Yeah, I thought it sounded like a yeast infection. I get them in my butt crack area somewhat often. Mine usually go away on their own but sometimes I've taken Diflucan (fluconazole). If you've had a yeast infection recently, they might just give you a refill over the phone. Although, you say it's a hemorrhoid and you can feel it, so I have no idea. I've never had hemorrhoids. You wouldn't be able to feel a yeast infection.

Yeast infections are extremely common for women to get. I used to get one every single month in my buttcrack area around the time of my period. I don't know why you say she should question why she has one.
