Any experience using medicinal marijuana for UC?

it is just a question that do you have any experience using marijuana for your colitis? is there any effect for the usual colitis marker (crp etc).
i have red more places marijana can improve your symptoms...but your blod result and your real condition stay the same ...but the life will be easier a little..you have appetite and so on...

my question is manly that did u se any improvement in your illnes when you were using medical or not medical marijuana?

Some say medical marijuana or CBD oils have helped them some. Others have had no results. It's all hearsay and anecdotal, at best. There's no large scale, double-blind, peer-verified scientific studies that prove MJ's effectiveness with an UC.

Try it, if you are so-inclined and it's legal in your country/state/providence.

I tried and I saw zero improvement. Of course, I had a severe case that really didn't respond to anything, so maybe I am not a good comparison.

I know someone with UC who has tried this, and she told me it had a positive effect, but to get the positive effect she had to be way too uncomfortably intoxicated all of the time to get the positive UC effect, so she stopped.

I tried it, and thought it helped somewhat.

On later attempts I didn't see what I thought I had the first time in terms of improvement, and had a bad flare go way, way worse when I tried it for the final time.

I finally filed Mary Jane and her leafy sisters in the same category with a lot of things I tried - any change I saw was probably in my head, good and bad.

I think when considering "illness" it is important to consider symptoms and inflammation separately.

THC and help with appetite and maybe slow motility.

CBD has anti-inflammatory properties and could presumably help with inflammation.

I noticed a couple days of improved symptoms (less watery stool) after a day with an edible. It prompted me to try some daily CBD using gummies and a water-based tincture. I get occasional loose stool and infrequently watery stool. SO I was keen to try. After several weeks of no watery stool incidents, I decided it was helping.

I am not sure that I really had any inflammation, so I am not sure exactly how it helped.

I did also observe less ache in joints and seemingly less tired body.

I am keeping up with the CBD 4 months now, even though the drops and gummies are about $80/mo

I think a reasonable 10mg to 40mg daily dose of CBD is worth a try

I have had extraordinary results with cannibis oil. My friend grows it and makes the oil himself with full content of CBD/THC to help with his cancer. As soon as I took it, my bowel was calm and stools well formed. I take my normal Balsalazide dose as well. I have been through major stress with bereavement and fighting a court case for my disabled son, but the cannibis oil (one good drop at night) has kept me well. I can imagine that if you're in a severe flare up, it might not be the silver bullet, but for maintenance I can only say it has worked for me.

DBwithUC: where do you get your CBD tincture?

Oral CBD is on my list of things to try although my UC symptoms have been doing very well for a long time. Maybe inflammation in other body parts could be improved, who knows.

I wish I could have MJ brownies (my lungs hate smoking) since my gut says nyet to vodka and allows just a little wine for recreation. Since teenage years MJ gives me mild paranoia that removes the fun aspect. Am a little envious of those who can use liquor or MJ.

MJ gives me paranoia too. Wish it made me happy like others but it doesn’t. I’m using a marijuana ointment on my wrist for some lingering pain and discomfort from my shattered wrist surgery last year. Seems to help. I use it at night and I think it helps me sleep too. I get mine from a friend who makes it. Going to try it myself. Apparently the recipes are on the web. Also to make an oil. I bought some on amazon but I’ve read earlier posts on HW that say charlottes web is a good reliable source.

I have been using CBD/THC edibles (20:4) to help me sleep for several months, they work really well most of the time. I live in a state where medical marijuana is legal so I buy it from a dispensary. It is spendy but it works. I too get paranoid from THC, really hate the feeling, but it is a fairly small amount and I don't notice it really while sleeping.
