I keep feeling like I'm going to pass out

Sara, I was watching a tv show last night where someone just suddenly passed out. Turns out his medical history showed prior use of prednisone so they suspected adrenal insufficiency. However, I can't imagine that this wasn't already considered and ruled out. I am just grasping at straws here. How can they not figure this out??? You can't continue on like this!

No one has mentioned that at all. I haven't actually passed out, which I guess makes this even weirder. I'll mention this to them. Thank you.

The gynecologist's office just called me back and said the doctor reviewed the levels and that they could mean polycystic ovarian syndrome. Now they are just making crap up!! I've never had any irregular periods or issues with my periods EVER. She told me to eat more protein and small meals! I eat all throughout the day. If this was a blood sugar issue, it wouldn't happen right after I eat sometimes, and my glucose would have been all out of whack, wouldn't it? It was totally normal! Everyone keeps asking me if I've eaten...don't they think I wouldn't be having all these expensive tests done if I was just a little lightheaded because I was hungry...like, I'm not a total moron.

I'm sorry to hear that Sara. I hope you find the cause and solution to this soon.

They tested my B-12 and it's normal (level was 633). Thank you though.

The only doctors I have who I really like are specialists -- gastro and my rectal surgeon (my allergist, dermatologist and dentist are good too, ha). My GI said there's not much else he can do after ordering the Echo. I've been researching things online though and there seem to be a lot more tests I can have done -- a holter monitor, MRI of my brain, EEG. I have a neurology appointment but it isn't until April 8.

I am never going to that gynecologist's office again or the new family doctor's office I just recently saw again. The family dr, after spending all of like 3 minutes with me and standing up and going to the door while I was still in mid-sentence, first told me this could just be from low Vit. D! Then yesterday I called them again saying it hasn't gotten any better and asking if they could refer me to a specialist. At first they were telling me I have to have another appointment just to get a referral! That's a lie. They were saying insurance requires that. No, they don't. Mine doesn't. Anyway, then he said he could refer me to neuro (I already have a neuro appt) or PSYCHIATRY. Never ever ever going there again. This isn't in my head and it is NOT panic attacks. I've had those years ago and this is nothing like that. I'm not even stressed out when it happens.

So right now I have an appointment with my old family doctor on Tuesday, but I really don't like her either and I don't know what she can really do or if she'll order any tests. I would like to push for an MRI but I am SOOOO claustrophobic that just the thought of getting one, even with a lot of valium or whatever they'd give me, scares me to death. I wish they could give me sedation and do one. I read online they do that some places.

It's been 2 weeks since I've done Humira now but since I used to have therapeutic levels every two weeks that means the med is still at a high level in my blood currently (I assume). I'm just still hoping this is a med side effect. My UC has not changed at all. Only had 1 BM yesterday (although I had 7 BMs on Wednesday and have no idea why!). I'm still on Uceris but considering stopping that for a few days too just to see. I can always go back on it. At this point, I don't even care about going on pred if it would make this issue go away.

Every morning I wake up and I feel totally normal. Then I get up, walk around, work on my computer, do dishes, do anything, and it comes back. Like yesterday, I was find until I got to that doctor's office waiting room and then it just hit me. Sometimes it's worse than others and I seem to feel better overall when I'm lying down. I know this all sounds completely insane! I've never experienced anything like this before.

Yeh, it was scary, but thankfully I was already laying down for the echo. I remember the tech saying the test was complete and that I could sit up and I replied that I needed to lay there for a moment. The next thing I was aware of was 3 nurses standing around me and they said they had called my doc and he said I needed to go to the ER.

Interesting about your ears. I was going to ask if maybe this was an inner ear thing because i know that can cause dizziness, but I figured that would have been one of the first things they would have checked. I think you need to move. The docs in your area leave a lot to be desired.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to declaring remission. I am 99% ready to do so, but this week I had a couple days where stools weren't perfect (no diarrhea, but in pieces so not fully formed) and I thought I saw some very faint traces of blood. Next Sat is my first infusion at 6 weeks so ask me again in a month or so lol

Thank you, bigtired. I'm not tired though, so it doesn't sound like that. Sorry you went through that though. Pretty crazy they couldn't figure out mono! The reason I have to lie down is because it's a very uncomfortable lightheaded and sometimes near-fainting feeling and it feels better or goes away if I'm lying down. It also just makes me less scared of fainting if I'm lying down, if that makes sense. It's very weird.

Yesterday I felt normal all day until the evening when my ex was writing me and I got stressed out. For some reason, it always gets worse if I'm stressed. I read online that it's common for vertigo to get worse with stress so I guess I'm not alone. Saturday it wasn't too bad. I think it's getting better. I think it's the Humira.

No, my WBC is not elevated anymore. That must have been from the UTI since it went away after I took antibiotics.

No problem - and unfortunately, I think the sensation I had was quite similar - it's definitely scary. I always thought the worst irony was panic attacks would probably be easier to find treatment for. Glad to hear you have no active infection.

For anyone who was following my saga, I'm better now. The lightheadedness and passing out feelings were very mild this week, and now I feel normal again. I'm 3 weeks off of Humira now. I felt significantly better 2.5 weeks off of Humira. I don't think it was a coincidence.

Thanks Serenity! It didn't help my UC anyway and I was already at "therapeutic levels" before we upped my dosage.

I'm thinking Entyvio. It seems to have the best safety/side effects profile. I was comparing it to Stelara last night, reading the clinical trial info and reviews for both. I'm fine on Uceris though. Don't really have any UC symptoms. So I'm not in a hurry. I really hate biologics. :/
