Well with all this coronavirus here in New York driving everyone to insanity I’m experiencing some type of Stomach Virus??? I have not had any issues since my 3 surgeries in 2018. Friday morning I wake up with body aches,fever(I thought) and things running out of me quicker then normal. So I stay home Friday and Saturday. Yesterday I still felt weak and beat up so I went to walk in care right next to my hospital. No Flu. No Bronchitis. No Pnuemonia. No Fever??? I was hot bc of very low blood pressure. Dr at walk in called an ambulance for me when it’s only a 400 ft walk She said she wasn’t taking any chances on me fainting. 3 bags of IV fluids(sounds like my UC days) and I felt better. Now food poisoning??? I’ve heard of a 24 hour virus but this was more then 48 hours. Really not sure what it is/was. I double up Probiotic. Eating bland. Anyone have ideas what it is???

Did they test you for coronavirus? Lots of folks in my area are also dealing with norovirus. could have been that perhaps? Hope you are feeling better.

No. I don’t have symptoms. Only testing people with symptoms

Last February I ended up in ER with the same symptoms plus vomiting. I had the dry heaves which caused more pain with the body aches. I was running a low temp, less than 101. One of my biggest problems was dehydration & horrible body aches. I tested negative for the flu, was given IV liquids & IV meds for the nausea. They also gave me Toradol to help with the body aches. All they told me was it was the intestinal virus that was going around. Even though I tested negative for the flu they went ahead & gave me a script for Tamiflu. They said it was possible I was tested too early for a positive flu result. I filled the script & took it, lol.

It took me 2 weeks to get back on track because of the fatigue. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Dog today just sore,not as bad as last 3 days.Im a contractor who gets lunch out every day.Could of been food poisioning??? just that it lasted 48 plus hours was a killer.Everything went out as quick as it went in.No vomiting at all.Low blood pressure can kill u if u dont take care of it quickly.My body is telling me to slow down boy your not 100% yet.With the virus here in New York i dont plan on going out soon,so my body needs rest

Do you have pouchitis? Bad gas, bloating, urgency, or pain?

No gas. No bloating. Urgency yes(little more then the norm). No pain. Doubled up Probiotic. Lots of water. B12 vitamin. Centrum vitamin. Lungs are good. I have an appetite. I think things are running thru me beFore stool gets to pouch. Don’t have the low blood pressure again. Let’s see what today brings

Sounds like food poisoning or a stomach bug. How bad would it be to take some activated charcoal with a jpouch? I don’t know how that would work, but that’s my go to thing to take post stomach bug for a day or two. I’m sure you are super dehydrated which isn’t helping, maybe some extra electrolytes or coconut water?

Never took charcoal thing. Took melatonin last night and I’m all whacked out today Still didn’t sleep well last night. Mild bloating. No pain. Some gas. Urgency little more then normal. Have not talk with my surgeon in a while. I’ll give them a call

Best thing I have ever found for food poisoning is apple cider vinegar. Has to be the natural kind with the mother in it. You can see the sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Don’t get the clear processed stuff with no sediment. Even as little as a half a teaspoon in a glass of water works. Just sip it slowly. It’s a little tart alright but well worth the taste to use it. It’s worked for me more than once for food poisoning.
