Just got tested for Covid19

I've had a persistent cough for a little over a week with no other symptoms associated with COVID-19, but out of "an abundance of caution" blah blah blah, decided to ask my PCP if I should be concerned as I wanted to do the right thing. He strongly adviced getting tested that same day, which of course I did.

He said Humira can "dampen" a lot of the symptoms we're told to watch out for. And all this time I had worried that if anything, being on an immunosuppressant would make the symptoms more evident.

Anyway, point of this post is to advice folks on humira/immuran et al. to not wait to seek out medical attention until you meet so-called CDC guidelines. What makes us more susceptible to Covid19 also potentially could make us less aware. Fool's paradise.

So it was just a nasal swab that got sent to a lab?

Nasal swab, yes. Live in a very rural town (Ski Resort) so we don't have access to the fancy tests.

Doc also tested the usual stuff they always run: temp check, listened to lungs, etc. All checked fine.

At least you could get a test. In LA people with mild symptoms are denied tests. Insufficient test availability. Good luck.

I have had a cough for about 2 weeks with no other symptoms. I just chalked it up to my silent acid reflux or BP meds. It's better now and almost gone

Will be very interested how your test comes out. I am now worried that if this could have been Covid 19 I may have infected others! Since I didn't have a fever or any other symptoms I wasn't concerned

I was sick a few weeks ago. Started on Friday night. Stomach ache, chills, and nauseous. Saturday my whole body ached. No fever, no cough. Sunday I went to Urgent Care. They asked me if I was in China. I told them no. They gave me a flu test. Came back negative. Took a urine sample. There was a little bacteria so the doctor said I had a UTI. I know I did not have that. They gave me anti biotics and pills for the nauseous. Monday I felt better.

I'm wondering if I had the corona virus. My neighbor said he was sick a month ago with respitory issues. He thinks he had it too.

I’ve had a scratchy little bit sore throat for about 2 weeks. I keep taking airborne and it’s never gotten worse. It’s hard because there are colds and upper respiratory bugs going around. But I’m still worried I could unknowingly have a mild case and am spreading germs around. Our friend called today and he’s had a pretty severe respiratory bug but they didn’t want to test him. It’s just too bad we can’t all get tested when feeling symptoms. I can’t help but feel that’s part of the reason why it’s spreading so quickly.

Those symptoms would not get you tested where I live. You did the right thing.

I've had exactly the same. Never gets worse, just stays the same, mild but noticeable..

Someone my Wife's friend works with is in the hospital fighting for her life. She is a nurse and most likely got exposed while working. She's 59 with no comorbidities.

Thank you all for sharing similar concerns... Doc said results (Tricore?) takes 5 days. Staying in absolute isolation for now. Luckily for me, it's Wagner Week at metopera.org smile

We owe such a huge debt of gratitude for healthcare workers that are on the front line of this. They are like braves soldiers who put their safety at risk to protect others. My wife has about 10 masks left, but lots of gloves, Her shoes stay outside when she comes home and scrubs and lab coat go directly in the washing machine. Hopefully that is enough.
