Great Cologne! I am so glad that u are still doing so well! It is great that you still update us. Very encouraging to hear how severe your case was and now you have been maintaining such a strong remission. Excellent news!!

Your remission story is very inspiring and gives me hope as well. Hope you continue to stay in remission forever. Did u do a scope to confirm your remission histologically?

Update. Have had a scope. There is some evidence of scar tissue. Otherwise all great. I eat Ghost pepper salsa, regularly, as well as whatever I want. Take the occasional probiotic, which reminds me I haven't taken any in months and probably will now that I thought about. Otherwise nothing else. Mike

Congrats on the great scope. Small degrees of scaring are normal if you've had UC a long time.

Just got through with a nasty case of flu followed by Pneumonia. Had to take multiple scripts for different Antibiotics. I was a little nervous and semi resistant, waited 1 week to go to doctors. That was a big mistake. Anyway healed up and still only see the UC as in a distant past.

The more I think about this and read other posts claiming to be cured I wonder how to change the title of my post to cured. I was criticized for saying cured years ago so put remission in the title. I just turned 67 and do not even think about a return to UCville. I just got through with what was my biggest nightmare, multiple antibiotics for flu and pneumonia. I eat hot spicy food regularly, ghost pepper strength. There seems to be many paths and read of others on this forum who feel they are cured.

I had never seen your story and enjoyed reading your original post. You are a very entertaining storyteller. I know several people with UC who go 5-10 years between attacks. I am not saying you are not cured, just to remain vigilant if anything changes for you. I may ask my doctors about LDN. I've seen so much on it over the years reading this site. I wish you continued good health.

Another year has gone by and oh how I love the Ghost Pepper Salsa. Poops are so solid and large, sometimes getting stuck, that I want to give them names. Thank you Lord. It was actually at church that I was led to LDN.

I use LDN 3.5mg every evening and nothing else. It rescued me from recalcitrant severe UC that no other drug fixed. I have done remicade, humira, entyvio, prednisone, 5-ASAs (rectal and oral), you name it I've tried it. LDN was what worked in the end.

A year later and I can eat anything except gluten. I've even recovered the ability to eat dairy.

It only costs me $29.95 a month. What a joke compared to all the thousands of $$ I spent on other drugs.

Mark, That is great to hear. Glad for you. This is why I post every year. Great forum but you have to dig sometimes to find valuable info. By re-posting updates at least some others might find this useful. Mike

How long was it before you noticed it working? How are your symptoms now compared to before LDN?

I'd really appreciate any info you can provide

Another year and no signs of UC. My biggest problem is how big and hard they can be. Also very clean but that isn't a bother. Started taking some fish oil Omega 3, vitamin D and considering a supplement called 'Blood Balance', all for my diabetes. Posted a request on the diabetes forum if anyone has any experience with the product. Right at the moment I am fasting after listening to some on line success stories about the positive effects of fasting with diabetes.

Interesting reading this post. Also noticed a 5/11/20 link to a recent article on LDN. Never heard of this stuff. Will do more digging into it.

I want to thank everybody on this post for letting people know about LDN I been on it for 7 weeks Im taking 4 ml worked my way up Starting at 2ml I was in a bad flare for months taking all my meds plus 40ml steroids and I was still going multiple times a day couldn't leave my house. I begged the the Dr for the prescription and he gave it to me because my insurance stinks and I was going broke. Im not fully in remission but I go 2 to 3times a day only in the morning with some urgency and Im eating gluten free and doing my best on scd diet cheating here and there I tried a lot of out of the box methods its only 7 weeks Im off all meds just taking Ldn liquid form and its cheap my poops are solid but on the thin side no blood no mucus and no diarrhea I know its only 7 weeks I think if your on meds and still having issues its worth a shot to try Ldn THANKYOU for this website and the good people on it

I was and still take a probiotic. One that is refrigerated. The LDN I was taking was 2mg / day and was cut with acidophilus, which is in yogurt. I felt then and still today believe there was something wrong with the flora in my colon and it needed to be "refreshed". I love hot spicy food which is predominant in my diet, ghost peppers yeah. I still though remain on a diabetic regimen, focused on low sugar intake.

Coming up on 10 year anniversary of remission. Ready to hit 70 and still in remission state. I started taking LDN again, as my doctor said it wouldn't hurt. Still taking a probiotic. Love hot and spicy. The hotter the better. I also continue to thank God.

I was originally prescribed by a homeopath doctor that is also an MD. Recently my regular doctor is the one who prescribes. It is made at a compound pharmacy as normal pharmacies do not stock it.

Just saw a website that can recommend good compound pharmacies. Research evidently has shown that not all are equal. I have been in remission now for 12 years.
