Hello fellow Arizonan,
I hope everyone is doing good!
I lost my health insurance coverage last month, and I can’t afford seeing my current GI ($650 copay!)
I’m looking for a new good GI that I can afford!
I live in N. Phoenix area close to Paradise Valley and Scottsdale.
Any help is appreciated!

Sorry to hear about
you losing your health insurance.
It might be worth checking out these GI docs:
https://digestiveaz.com/
My wife had a routine colonoscopy there and thought it was good.

You would think they would give you a decent cash rate for a consult if you lost your job because of covid. Do you just need script
s or do you need a colonoscopy or some other procedure?

My husband was laid off because of COVID-19, so we lost our health coverage as a result, both Cobra and market place were very expensive. Currently I have a flare, buying medications using Goodrx, next month I have an appointment with my doctor which I can’t afford, I need to do some blood works, I’m on a yearly Colonoscopy schedule for colon cancer surveillance, which due on September. Everything is expensive, but some places has lower costs than others, I don’t expect special prices if I’m uninsured, on the contrary, some doctors’ offices don’t accept uninsured patients! Yesterday the pharmacist was questioning me if I can pay for the Enema, “because it is pricy”

I would hope they would only charge what the average insurance company pays. Normally a $225 consult gets knocked down to around $100 as per the contract.
In any case, best of luck getting your flare under control and let us know how things go.
