CT scans results good and bad.

Had a CT scan done looking for twists and kinks in my large intestine before doing a Scope. The results for the abdominal and pelvis were ok?? but the scan showed a problem with my right lung. So needed a CT chest scan and the results were not good with a lobulated mass and a nodule plus some satillate nodules. So now it's off for a Pet scan and a lung biopsy. I have been on Remicade 10mg/kg every 6 weeks for almost 3 years now but was starting to flare for the last few months so we thought we would take a look/see since my fecal cal pro results came back at 530. We had no idea the lung thing was going on. Yes I had been coughing for the last 2 years but thought it was a side effect of the Remicade nothing more. Anyway lots of tests to do over the new 2 weeks than back to the pulmonary doctor. My gastro doctor and I have decided not to change my U/C meds until we know more.

Wow that sucks! So sorry! I guess the good news would be that your flare caught a serious underlying issue?

Update: This is my last post. There really is no support forum for lung cancer on the healing well site and I do not want to start one, so I have decided to not take you all on my last Rodeo. But I want to give Thanks to all of you who responded with support and well wishes.
All the tests and biopsies are done. The test result in. I have stage 4 lung cancer which has metastasized to my brain and possibly the bones. They will try to keep me on Remicade for the U/C to keep me comfortable on that end. "Pun intended". I am making decisions and deciding if I want to move forward with Brain radiation and other Onocolgy medications. Weighing the benefits of cancer treatment versus the quality of my last Rodeo on the earth. I am senting you all Well wishes with all your treatments for your U/C symptoms and what ever else life may throw your way. I wish everyone here a pain free life filled full of happiness.

It’s a tough decision!
Treatment vs quality of life?

My sister had a colon cancer, she went through radiation and chemotherapy, regarding cancer treatments I think all experience the same.

Oh, newme, so sorry to read this. I agree, a very tough decision. My sister-in-law had uterine cancer, spread to abdomen, and eventually brain. She fought to the end. I am not sure what I would decide having watched that. It's an individual decision, each person has to make their own. I wish you all the best whatever you choose.

Very sorry to read this, I hope you have access to a large cancer treatment facility regardless of what treatment path you choose. Perhaps later you will stop by & let us hear from you.

That has to be a very difficult thing to face. My sister had lung cancer. With aggressive treatment I think she lived about 1.5 years after diagnosis (stage 4), but she didn't take care of herself at all ... continued to smoke until the last few months when she couldn't do it anymore.

Wish you all the best on this difficult journey. There has been amazing advancements in cancer treatment -- even for late stages. See what the docs say, but only you can decide what you want to do.
