HAIR LOSS on Entyvio

I've been on Entyvio for over a year now, and it has worked well. I had to go off for 2 months because I had bladder cancer surgery. Of course, I went into another flare but as soon as possible I received a infusion. The very next morning when I brushed my hair , it came out in handfulls! It is still falling out , not quite as bad but almost. Has this happened to anyone else? Wondering if it will let up and start to come back. I know there are alot of people who have worse side effects and I really sympathize with anyone who has this horrible disease. Thank you in advance for your input.

Thank you. I just called the Dr., but have not heard back yet. I also called the Infusion center to see if anything was changed, and she said it was not. Thanks for your help......so youre thinking it was probably from the prednisone? That stuff is so strong I wouldnt be surprised.

It is likely telogen effluvium, which is temporary hair loss that can result from the stress the flare causes . I had this happen when I first started using Entyvio and started to get my flare to calm down (still flaring but 85 percent better, symptom-wise). I used a hair preserving shampoo and conditioner and took biotin (no idea if it helped), and eventually the hair loss stopped.
