Hi y’all,
So those of you who are on the SCD diet know that it can be very challenging and intimidating in the beginning. I’m new to the SCD been on it for 2 weeks! Please share your favorite recipe and/or product to help others like me who are new and feel like our options are limited. Maybe this will encourage those who are on the fence to try the diet when they find that there are still many yummy options. Thank you!

Hi,
When DD was on strict SCD - I used to make SCD Turkey sausage and Butternut squash soup. Also baked salmon.
Those days - DD followed All against grain and Urban poser blogs and she still follows at times.
Lot of planning and prep work is needed to keep it up and if it works then nothing matters!!
Best wishes...

SCD diet helped DD greatly those days with her symptoms and she gained all her lost weight.
But SCD did not gave her a strong remission even though she was on lialda.
She had Fecal microbiome transplant for c.diff and this resulted in 7+ yrs remission.
DD followed strict SCD for 2yrs and then slowly got into normal home made foods and eventually to outside foods as needed.
She was med free too without any symptoms.
But 2019 November she ate out and got a food bug and was treated as a food virus by the primary care.
When she moved out to another state for work and being totally symptom free -did not take the initiative to set a GI for future thinking the fist diagnosis could be a possible mistake!!
This failure delayed the GI involvement and worsens the flare.
Long story short -
She did not show interest in doing SCD this time and I too felt laid back thinking -it is what it is !!
She did test positive for C.diff this flare up too but fecal transplant did not do much .
Budesonide+ lialda +enema combination too gave only temporary relief.
Finally gave into the next in ladder option - Entyvio.
So far it is working and she eats normal home cooked foods - the only outside food so far is pizza. which gives a normalcy to life.

This website has really good recipes the author has UC. Not all the recipes are SCD friendly but most are!

Buy Paleo cookbooks. Most recipes will be SCD compliant. Good luck.
