Can a detox diet cure C-diff bacteria?

Hi , its not possible for me to go out of the house due to lockdown. I wanted to get myself test for a number of bacterial infections that are giving me a lot of bad smell gas and mucous ( no other symptoms) . So , I wanted to know if a detox diet for a few day, like staying on fruits and juices , will get myself rid of these bacterias. And does C-diff or other harmful bacterias also die from detox?

Detox diets are nonsense. They're mostly about fasting or just drinking fruit juice as a way to eliminate toxins. But no one ever says what those toxins are, or how they get eliminated.

If you are able to tolerate 'MAC' diets, or inulin based diets, they have some merit as far as feeding colonic cells and nurturing gut bacteria. They're usually high fiber which a lot of inflamed guts can't tolerate.

Do you have c-diff? Is your UC active?

Concept of detox does not make sense. These naïve ideas stem from alternative medicine approaches. Our body has its own mechanisms how to get rid of unwanted substances (toxins). There is no easy way how to affect these mechanisms. For example how can "cleansing enema" cause washing away heavy metals stored in your brain? It does not make sense.

If you have an bacterial infection and you do not have specific antibiotics you can try to populate your colon with non pathogenic bacteria like Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745 (available without prescription).

Hi!
I believe in diet but I also believe in medication. Sometimes diet isn’t enough and you need medicine and there’s nothing wrong with that! You can certainly try dieting since it seems like you have no other choice due to lockdown but I would definitely get tested and see a doctor to see whats going on.

NO....

C Diff is serious, has been known to be fatal, and shouldn't be trifled with. You need an antibiotic, probably vancomycin or fidaxomicin (Dificid). Maybe your physician can have it delivered to your residence. For more info:

Or fecal transplant if meds aren't enough.

Plus people dont realise that if they have c.diff...they can spread it as well.

A detox diet won't cure you of anything.

Ask your doctor about Dificid.
